What did classmates say about our 40 year class reunion?
All I
can say about life is, Oh God, enjoy it! And enjoy it we did during the weekend and the main event at the Paramount on Saturday evening. Here is what some of your classmates, who were able to attend, had to say about the event…
Terri Applegate sent this wonderfully
written commentary by a columnist about his class and it is very apropos and
certainly fits the way many of us felt about this past class reunion...
"But now it's my turn to
tell you what a truly memorable and excellent reunion yours was. This is my
third Class of '65 Reunion, and each one has been better than the one
before. This one was nothing short of OUTSTANDING!
"Souvenir de Paris (Saint Maur) et de notre formidable reunion, grace a toi
surtout. Merci beaucoup!" "Thank
you so much for organizing the reunion - it was wonderful. After all your
hard work, you must be very proud of the result - everone had a great time.
Now relax, have fun, and enjoy your "reunion free" life - you deserve it!!" "So you
an count the hours until our next reunion! Thank you for a wonderful evening
with memories I will long remember." "Thank
you so much for such a great reunion. I can't believe all the work you did.
I am sure it would not have happened without you. I think everyone had a
good time and enjoyed the many events. Looking forward to checking out the
web site when I get home." "Thanks
for all your work." "I'm still smiling when I
think back of the FINE time I had at the reunion. A double slice of
chocolate chip pie to you and Jim.
The
whole weekend was lots of fun and filled with memories that I still think
about. Dear Eric, Dear Mike and Garry, "Anne and I enjoyed the
wonderful reunion that you and the committee made possible. It was great for
me to see so many very old friends.
"Peggy, I
honor you for putting together a fabulous class reunion. I had so much fun
and have heard from several of my classmates since being home. I spoke with
my aunt today (she lives in Cape Coral, Florida) and she and my uncles are
going to Alexandria next week for his 65 class reunion, Now, there is
something to think about! Thanks again for all of the time and hard
work you put into our reunion. It showed!" "Peggy, Here is another "thank You" for
all of your hardwork and time that you spent on organizing the M.H.H.S.
Class of "65" reunion. The decorations, music, food, and the experience of
reuniting with high school friends was excellent! I also wish to extend a
"thank you" to your commitee members, Eric, Brad, and the former teachers
who helped make the evening at the Paramount one of the best memories of my
life!"
"I too
want to say Thank You for a job well done! Not only did you put
together an outstanding reunion for the Class of '65, but you linked many of
us up with our friends that we have not seen for years. The evening was
outstanding and these
"Great job with the reunion! Can't wait for the next one.
My hat goes off to you and Jim for a terrific job on making our reunion
such a success. I know you had support and a great deal of help, but you
were the ones who made it happen and I personally thank you for
everything. Keep sending emails when you can and i will as well.
Thanks again, Classmate forever,"
Perry Bush
Mason, OH "Pat yourself on the back several times Peggy for a job well done! I'm
sure I speak for everyone that attended our 40th reunion. You had all the
bases covered with everything for the evening planned out in grand style.
Thanks for all your time and effort you spent with all the preparations and
e-mails. The evening was fun, informative and very meaningful for all who
were able to attend. Life is all about events and memories...good & bad.
This 40th reunion will be instilled in our thoughts and hearts as a good one
that will put smiles on our faces each time we remember the eve. we all
spent together at the Paramount. Thanks again to you & Jim and so many
others for creating such a fond memory for us all. Hope to see you again
soon,"
"You did a great job with
all the planning...you and your committee were the best. You must feel a
great sense of personal satisfaction and relief. I'm sure you are finding a
lot of things you need to spend time on besides what you did the past two
years. Well, my experience couldn't have been any nicer, so a personal thank
you for all you did."
"Thank you and your committee for all the hard work on the
40th Class Reunion. Fred and I had a great time and enjoyed talking with
many of the classmates. I am only sorry that we did not get to talk to
more. Everything was perfect: food, entertainment (including Eric and
Brad), schedule, etc. Looking forward to emailing some lost friends and
classmates. Please keep in touch. Thanks again,"
Becky Cooper Fenimore
Florence, SC
"I can't remember if I wrote to tell you what
an outstanding job you did on the reunion. (I'm sure many others have
written already!) I had a terrific time, and I'm sure everyone else did
as well. You didn't miss a trick - it was a spectacular evening! Thanks
again for all of your hard work and dedication. You enriched a lot of
lives!! Fondly,"
Eileen Simkin Prince
Indianapolis, IN "Thanks so much for the greatest time
ever at the reunion. You and all your committee did such an outstanding job
and because you live close to Anderson, I guess you had to do all the work
as the rest of us just had to get to Anderson--we outside the state
certainly do appreciate your hard work and time, it was a great time
re-connecting with everyone. Eric was perfect as emcee and made the evening
such fun!! I think Bob Hope's ending song "Thanks for the Memories"
probably says it best--thanks, Peggy et al."
"Thank you to you and all of
your team who did so much to make this such a great time for all. It was
so good to see everyone. Your Class reunion booklet is wonderful. I
truly enjoy looking through it to see where everyone is living. We have
spread out all over the country. The food was excellent. The disc jockey
was great. And most of all - our classmates are the best!!!!
Thanks again Peggy!"

St. James City, FL
"I can only say....THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM
OF MY HEART. What a magnificient event!! I was blown away right from the
start...the location, decorations, program and schedule was just perfect.
Eric was perfect as MOC and did a great job. The memories will be with me
forever as I continually replay the evening again and again. Your hard
work has made a lot of friendships connect again and new ones kindle. I
still get a smile when I recall Brad tumbling into the room and singing
the school song...MHHS FOREVER!! Your very special and we all thank you
for your tireless search to find all of us. Looking forward to the next
one...."

Kingwood, TX
"Peggy, THANK YOU again for everything you did to put our 40th reunion
together. It was a great success. It was the first one I have attended
but had to be one of the best. I just had complete knee replacement on
June 27, so I wasn't feeling up to par. I had to leave after the program
part of the evening. I didn't get to visit with everyone I would have
liked to but at least I enjoyed seeing them. I am so glad I came. Brad
and his wife were certainly a highlight of the evening and Eric did an
excellent job as MC. The food was wonderful. What else can I say but it
was a "fun time". Thanks again for everything!"
Love, Patty Brown Glaze Pendleton, IN
"Eric, just wanted to say thank you for being master of
ceremonies for our class event, you did a great job, and added a lot of
humor. You must live right around the corner from me, I live on Layton
Rd., small world isn't it. It was great seeing so many of our classmates.
I was sorry about your Dad passing on, my Dad has been gone many years, I
know how that hurts. Take care, and thanks for the good job done." Linda
Bodenhorn Rich
Anderson, IN
"Peggy, I wanted to thank you for all the work you put in
for our reunion, it was so nice of you and you made it possible for so
many of us to look up our classmates, thanks again for all your time and
effort, it was much appreciated by many. Take care,"
Linda Bodenhorn Rich. Anderson, IN "Thanks for the GREAT evening. You did such a wonderful job for all of us to enjoy. Seeing so many old friends again was the best. It's still hard to believe 40 years have gone by and we still look soooooooooooooooooo good. Thanks again and GO PIRATES."
Marjorie Turner Shell
Anderson, IN "I know you have probably received many thanks for everything you contributed towards a totally successful reunion. I'm sure there was something for everyone. Ron and I certainly enjoyed our Saturday evening.
You gave your most valuable time and all appreciate that.
May God continue to richly bless you with all you need as you continue to
serve Him in your witness for Christ as you so generously give. In His
Love,"
Sandy Markle Forney

"Hi Peggy, just wanted to say THANK YOU for letting me be a
part of such a wonderful night. I was 17 again. What a great time working
on the reunion, and making new friendships, that is priceless . It was an
evening to remember"
Margie Stamm Sumner

"Thank you Peggy for such a huge support and the events were wonderful. My
wife Julie and I enjoyed the evening."
Larry Morgan
Big Pine Key, FL or London, OH "Peggy-----You and the entire organizing committee did a terrific job on
the reunion...........but especially it was you who stepped up to do the
heavy lifting and contributed countless hours on making this a success.
Kathy and I had a great time and will have fond memories for years to come.
It was evident that everyone had an enjoyable evening."
"I am
still enjoying replaying the entire weekend of activities in my mind! It
was wonderful!!! THANKS for everything!!!!!!!!!!"
"What a wonderful weekend! It was so much fun
trying to guess who everyone was because we all had changed so much. My
what 40 years can do. It was a wonderful time reminiscing. Thank you so
much for all of your hard work. I can just imagine how relieved you must
feel now that it is all behind you. I certainly hope you had the
opportunity to enjoy visiting with everyone.
Eric Edwards was perfect! He made all of us
feel very relaxed. I am so glad my husband and I attended (he had a great
time too). I have talked to a couple of people who attended Friday night,
but did not attend the Saturday evening event, they are so sorry they
didn't go. Hopefully all of us can attend the 50th.
Thanks again,"
Lanonna Beeson Sundermeyer
Ghent, KY "What
a delightful evening! The venue was spectacular and, with all your
decorations, superb. The memorabilia was great. The program (and the MC)
were fantastic. The food was delicious. The company was so much fun! What a
wonderful job you and all the committee did! Thank you so much and
Congratulations on a successful reunion! Sincerely,"
"Wow! What a ride! Thank you for making it possible. I
was honored to participate on the committee to help bring your ideas to
fruition. Yes, we all helped, but you had the vision. When I walked into
the Paramount Ballroom Saturday night and realized..."this is it!", I
couldn't have been more proud of what had been accomplished, nor more
excited about what was about to happen. As I watched our classmates
coming in and tried to greet as many as possible, I could only think "this
is the Class of '65, look at us all! They can take away our school,
they can tear it down, but WE are MHHS! WE are the Pirates! " What a
wonderful evening we all had together! I had a wonderful time at the
reunion It all went too quickly though. The Paramount Ballroom
looked spectacular with all the beautiful decorations! It was wonderful
to see such a good turnout. We did good under your direction!"

"Thanks again for the
wonderful Reunion. You did a terrific job and I for one want to really
thank you. We couldn't have done it without you. That was without a doubt
one of the most memorable evenings of all time. I think when it comes to
Reunions the class of 1965 has done the very best of all. It was a Class
Act definitely. It was so much fun visiting with all the classmates. Many
thanks again to everyone that made it possible."

"I
can't tell what a great time we had last night. I wanted to thank you for
letting us come at such short notice but every time I saw you, you were
busy. I got a chance to talk to Jim though. I do hope after all your work
you got to enjoy the night. I heard all night how much work you did. No
one could thank you enough. You really did deserve the recognition and
more. Thank you again for such a wonderful evening."
"Peggy,
great show, thank you so much for your much appreciated hard work. It was
great seeing everyone and participating in the various functions. You're the
best,"
"Thanks again for a wonderful evening!" "Peggy: Just a note to say, again, how very much I
enjoyed all the activities Saturday evening. You, Jim, Eric, and all the
others did an absolutely magnificent job in putting all this together, and
it was obvious what a huge job it had to have been for you all. "Peggy,
I wanted to drop you a line one more time to tell you how much I appreciated
the work you put in on the class reunion. I hope we can have another one at
50. It really did take me back to another time and place. Thanks again."
"Hi
guys!! Well it is
finally over!! Well at least all the planning. I have heard from Margie and
Kathy Hollingsworth and they said they had a blast and everything went
well. The decorations were beautiful and everything was first class all the
way. Great job to both of you. I can't imagine the hours you have spent on
this. I am so sorry I was not there and thus the reason for my email. Your
updates throughout the year have been fabulous and fun. Looking forward to
seeing some pictures on the website. Well Peggy and Jim, MANY MANY KUDOS TO YOU BOTH !!!" "Thanks
for the wonderful website and updates for classmates. Sorry to hear about
Norm. But because of this website, two past friends who I haven't seen in
over 30 years have contacted me. Paul Moody from our class and Dale Boone
who was in the class of '66 have both e-mailed me and then we spent a long
time on the phone reminiscing and catching up. Thanks again!!" Just wanted to say a big thanks to the reunion committee for a great
weekend. It was great to catch up with everyone after 40 years. My husband
said that your website was fantastic and he is going to show it to his
reunion committee as an example of how things ought to be done. Just wanted
you and Jim to know that. Thanks again.
