Rita A. McConathy Spencer
March 26, 1947 — Oct. 31, 2008
Rita A. (McConathy) Spencer, 61, of Anderson, died Oct. 31, 2008, at
Rawlins House in Pendleton, following an extended illness. She
was born March 26, 1947, in Anderson, and lived most of her life in this
area. She was a 1965 graduate of Madison Heights High School. Rita had
been employed by J.C. Penney Co. for 15 years. She was a member of Fifth
Street United Methodist Church.
(Note: Rita had had Alzheimer's since 2003. She was diagnosed with
an aggressive
type. Her mother took care of her until 2007 when she went to Rawling's
House. The casket was closed so I assumed she was in the fetal position
as many are with that disease. I did convey our condolences from the Lady
Pirates and Eddie (her son) appreciated the thoughts and me coming to the
funeral home. Just wanted to give you an update.
From Arlene Webb Ellingwood)
